How a Three-Woman Start-Up Became Boston’s Best – a Commercial Cleaning Services division of Tremendous Maid LLC
Small business drives America. According to the most recent U.S. Census and Small Business Administration data, they hire over 50% of all U.S. employees. They hire over 65% of all new jobs, and have been doing so since 1995. Small businesses are the motor that keeps our country’s employment engine moving. And they often become the “first responders” to pull our country out of its darkest moments when the economy is hardest hit.
Boston’s Best Commercial Cleaning (BBCC) began as one of approximately 543,000 new small businesses that get started in the United States of America each month! The company “hung its shingle” in 2011.

Some new business founders seek to build a company that will reap big headlines in the news. Some seek to develop “the next new thing.” But the founders of Boston’s Best Commercial Cleaning chose to provide a service that is not even close to being considered as glamourous. Instead, they chose the commercial cleaning industry. And today, their “one man’s trash” strategy has grown into a business that all throughout the Boston area treasure.
Heritage of 5-Star Expertise
If you have ever stayed at a 5-star hotel, you know what that means in terms of cleanliness. In a word: stellar. And that’s the rigorous background and training that both founders of Boston’s Best Commercial Cleaning know very well. BBCC founders have hospitality and major corporate business experience working at and for the biggest and the best among 5-Star and 5-Diamond corporations: Starwood, Hilton, Marriott, and The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida.
So when the trio made the commitment to begin the company in 2010 – they knew firsthand what 5-Star meant, top to bottom, floor to door. To establish Boston’s Best, they set a goal, and set a new standard: 5-Star Commercial Cleaning. People understood 5-star in terms of being a guest/consumer at a hotel. But no one delivered that standard of service when it came to commercial cleaning and the overall customer service experience. So when Boston’s Best Commercial Cleaning launched – “a new bar was born.” No –we are not talking about cleaning –cleaning can be the same from company to company especially but rather about the total customer service experience from the point of contact in the company, to how invoices are managed and feedback is received to ensure a true exceptional pleasant experience.
Stellar Service Standards

Nisaury Tejeda – Co-Founder & CFO
By focusing and capitalizing on delivering 5-Star Commercial Cleaning Services, BBCC was able to launch and rapidly build a small, but highly loyal base of clients. The 5-Star focus led to contract awards for services among companies and within industry categories including property and asset management firms, advertising agencies, information tech companies and other organizations.
Client-Focused Service Delivery
As BBCC established itself in the greater Boston market, the founders discovered THE key to make our venture sustainable: client-focused services. Other companies were essentially coming in … doing their job … and leaving. But that was less than founding trio wanted to deliver, and far under-the-bar for the 5-Star promise set as the company service promise. ‘we want to be a valuable resource and help move the cleaning industry forward…that’s why creating content that our potential clients truly need is a main goal for us”.
What they gleaned and understood is that in addition to service quality, most commercial cleaning services providers sorely missed the mark in terms of providing client-focused delivery of services. What an advertising agency needs differs from what a bank needs. What an apartment building needs differs from the needs of a retail location. As a result, the founders developed what they refer to as client-focused service delivery. That became the next cornerstone to establishing the BBCC brand. And it is now a cornerstone of service delivery operations, and continues to be what distinguishes BBCC from its commercial cleaning competitors.

BBCC: A Purpose-Driven Blend of Corporate Culture & Quality of Life
All three founders are first generation American citizens, and proud of it! Their pride and belief in the American Dream, and their shared unshakeable give-back spirit sets the tone and guides the internal corporate culture at Boston’s Best.
To that end, employees are more than employees. They are a team. Work doesn’t start when employees enter the door – it is a part of their total BBCC team member experience.
Boston’s Best Commercial Cleaning provides its team (they prefer that to the term: employees) with above minimum wage earnings, but get this — also with benefits: retirement plans, paid vacation time off, and holiday pay. Few commercial cleaning companies go to this extent.
But that’s not all. Since many BBCC team members are of Latino origin, the company has committed to be a conduit to improving the quality of life for employees who are first generation and new immigrants. All team members have access to financial literacy classes, English language learning programs and more. And the company makes it a priority to schedule activities that foster family togetherness, holiday celebrations and give participation in volunteer activities that build communities throughout the greater Boston area.
For all these reasons, Citizens Bank awarded Boston’s Best Commercial Cleaning with its “Good Citizen Award” in 2015.
And for all these reasons, Boston’s Best Commercial Cleaning continues to live up to its name: Boston’s Best.
